Karma Lowe is Assistant Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Columbia School of Social Work. She has held that position since May 2018, and officially opened the School’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, after transitioning out of her prior position of Director of the offices of Enrollment, Student Services, and Financial Aid of CSSW. She has 16 years of experience in student affairs, and many years of experience conducting workshops and facilitating dialogues on diversity, self-awareness, and critical conversations. Karma earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Columbia University before pursuing a master’s in international affairs, specializing in conflict resolution, at Columbia’s School of International Affairs (SIPA).
